A DERBY b-boy crew will be battling it out against crews from all over the world after their moves earned them a place in the final of the ultimate international competition. The Trinity Warriors are celebrating a famous victory after winning the Regional Conflict National Final and will now represent the UK at the Sony Ericsson World B-Boy Championships.  Oldest crew member, Leon Heywood, aka Boogie, said the Warriors had wiped the floor with the competition during the UK finals of the competition in London. The 28-year-old, of Boyer Street, Derby, said: “We blew all the competition out of the water. “All of us performed really well considering we had only been practising for this competition for about two weeks. “We have been performing in festivals around the East Midlands and London recently so had been spending a lot of time working on a theatre piece for that. “We are now going to be up against some of the best crews in the World so will definitely be putting in the time in the run-up to the finals.” The crew, whose members are all from Derby, formed in 2001 and practice at various studios in the city, including Derby Dance. The Warriors first beat off 15 other crews in the Northern heat of the competition in April to make it though to the final, where they were up against seven other groups, including ones from London, Ireland and Leeds. Eight members, including 10-year-old Karam Singh...  took part in the competition, although at least 18 B-Boys make up Trinity Warriors. After stealing the UK crown they will now have to battle it out against crews from countries such as Korea, Japan America and Russia. Leon, who is one of the founder members, added: “The best of the best will be taking part in the final so we are really going to have to pull it out of the bag. “We are all really up for it and can't wait to get out there and battle it out against crews from all over the world. “Since taking part in the competition, there has been a lot of hype around the crew and things are really beginning to take off.” DJ Hooch is the founder of the Sony Ericsson B-Boy championships and organiser of the event. He said: “Trinty won because they fought hardest in every battle, they had the most desire to win and they had their little secret weapon in B-Boy Karam.” The World Finals are being held at the Brixton Academy, London, in October.
