Now that we have had time to watch the dvd of this event lets have some constructive views.Legs was very complimentary towards Jinjo in the semi I had it 2 to 1 b4 tie break(my 9 yr old son scored it the other way)watch Hong 10,s reaction when Cloud is down during tie break,yes Legs was negative esp on Sat at knock out jam and he may be biased to usa(Luigi,venum,flea rock are members of rock steady)we can forgive this because he is a LEGEND.Dont agree with judges i suggest IBE All Battle All(even then arguments are raised).Well done to Deydey the only popper there i had not seen before.What can i say about the lockers except THE MUSIC (Gimme That Funk,Dennis Coffey) Brilliant.Thanks to the following for chat and photos TOP 9(where were u Robin),Lilou(revenge is sweet bcone)EXC(fresh) and Dan Team Schmetta(very very strong crew)As a 39 yr old (OLD)B boy the events are about the music and watchin someone or something new.As for the Girlz come on it,s LADIES.OUT!

DEYDEY WON period! she deserved to win! you jsmooth from what you saw you can judge? i don't think you can judge by a video where you can only see deydey's back! i was there both days and im telling you slim is good but boring after few rounds, doin the same thing over and over! deydey changed feeling switched styles and was feeling the music !! and her tecnik!! man was unbelievable!! hojin was also good but sorry deydey beat him ! better presence, better popping tecnik, she was more clean and better musicality, hojin was trying to hard to frak the beat!
so sorry but deydey is the champ!! every single battle she won easy (slim had a hard time going to final! he had a tie break in quarter then had a tie break in semis..) but yea much props to him n hojin still for me those two plus deydey were the best of that competition!

Had a great night at the finals, some poor poor descisions, 1st one one I been to so dont know if thats a normal thing but how Jinjo didnt get to the final is beyond me, Usa were beat by them and top nine, oh well. Morris killed it, monster he just kept upping his game and Dey Dey u are da shit girl, well done, peace.

It's pretty clear that Crazy Legs don't like the Koreans, I caught him many times dissing the Korean bboys while watching the videos of the past events.

UK bboy is a steal that's why they don't show the past events' results. uk bboy 2003 was a steal, Korea took that one. On 1 on 1 battle bboy Trickx got robbed in that event.

Event was entertaining as hell but poor call on Jinjo-ES decision. Korea took it within the 10 min 'normal' time and edged the tie-breaker.

Scribble, just 'cos Korea have won 4 titles since 2002 this doesn't evidence impartiality or ability to get things right every time.

Not saying it's easy to judge but I personally felt the Vagabonds were comfortable against Project Korea in 2002 (salah killed it!) and Drifters beat Methods of Havik in 2003 (as did pretty much everyone) but it wasn't to be. The 2004-2008 finals were all good calls so I suppose we were due a poor call.

Congrats on Soul Mavs pushing Top 9 all the way, and Dey Dey for winning the popping. Hopefully, Salah will return next time, competing!

A "Showcase" is a series of routines which have been planned in advance. A "Battle" is supposed to be about dancing "Freestyle" - meaning the dancers are meant to be making it up as they go along. It's meant to be spontaneous. Crazy Legs was reminding the dancers that a "Battle" is about dancing Freestyle, not just doing dance routines. You will know this if you are a b-boy. Three judges is the norm at the UK Champs. The same judging system voted Korea to more victories than any other nation. You will know this if you are a b-boy. The judges - Cros1, Mouse & Extremo are three people who live their lives in this culture. They have dedicated their whole excistance to this culture & nothing is more important to them than this culture. They are respected the World over, because of their knowledge & integrity. You will know this if you are a b-boy. The USA crew were boring? Maybe they are to those who don't understand what it was they were doing. It's very easy to miss the subtle things, the quality, the style, the flavour. When all you're doing is waiting for a big acrobatic move to scream at. Luckily the judges didn't miss all this & that's because they're b-boys.

B Girls: I was shocked. Girls you were absolutely awesome! Keep it up!
Solo bboy battles: very good, Morris was a POWER STAR. He doesn't do straight-legs power moves, but I liked his massive jumps and how he fly high in the power moves without any problems.
Poppers: excellent, Dey Dey is a champion for sure and Slim was fantastic too
Crews: Russia, USA, Korea, Ukraine and Belgium were all absolutely fantastic. Russia, USA and Korea are top. Maybe USA has deserved to win over the Russians this time, but if Korea was in the final they could have been the winner!
Hosts: very very bad. Afrika Islam was especially annoying with repeating unclear negative sentence: "somebody's going home". Also "this is the battle" and "this is for real" were there just too many... Crazy Legs was not bad, but seemed not very well prepared/organized. Sometimes I didn't know which crew is on which side of the stage and battle was already on!? Those little Koreans he presented as 'some Korean kids'... and then he added 'they are 9 year old'... !? I think they were really cool! So he should really said few words about the crews and individuals before they perform.
Judges: I think they tried to do their best. Whether or not someone influenced them I don't know. I don't quite agree that ability of crew to battle on concrete is as much important! However I agree with them that there should be nice footwork shown in every good crew and that the battle is not a showcase. In another words too much routines can impress only the crowd.
The crowd: I was standing in the middle of it and had the feeling that 80% people in the hall knew nothing about break dance and difficulty of the moves and so their reactions were really wrong. That's also why so many feel so bad about the judges.
DJ's: could have been better too. They never played any well-known bboy tune that I know in the battle. That's sad. Nothing to be remembered. The loops were sometimes too monotonous and played too long.

The DVD is not as important the live show we paid tickets for Hooch ..come on!! Cameras up at the decks maybe? I remember being let down at the Sprite Urban Games by you too. Kicking us all out of the tent even though we were sat in our spot... only to leave the arena then not get back in coz it was too busy.

USA were probably the weakest on the day with insipid routines and not enough flair on the individual performances. And how can you say there was anti usa bias when the crowd favourite Morris got the biggest applause of night?

Congrats to all the winners. i think USA deserved to win as they did the most freestylin' and didn't rely on gimmicky routines and choreography. Typical of the US there is an anti-Korean bias, which I think is questionable. Maybe next year B-Boy Events can do some more pre-awareness for the audience on judging criterea as I think the audience is so mainstream now they probably don't understand the finer points of B-Boy culture. I certainly don't! I'd also like to say it sucked to see the UK crowd boo the Americans. Get over the anti-US sentiment for f***'s sake. When are we likley to elect an Asian or Black Prime Minister? Give credit where credit is due.

Japan messed up big time on their routine. I cringed!!! They had it but messed it up and there was evident confusion.

Although the "it's not a showcase" shit got annoying by the 200th time... he was right.

Personally I'd rather have seen Jinjo vs top9. Species were trying to keep it too old school and I got bored a lot of the time they were on. The other two crews had the old school but also things to keep us rev'd up.

The event this year was very well organised. However I won't return ever again! It is a shame that the american hosts had to manipulate during the whole event...they were not funny at all! About the judges they were simple puppets on the hands of the american machine: they were dishonest and not professional! I liked very much the Korean and Belgium crews as many people did and was shocked with their results!! It was convenient to leave for the end the results of the finals (locking, popping, b-boy solo...)but everybody understood the reason why: the despair of american hosts and teams for prize money!!! And why did USA crew had to win this event? They were so bad... It is a shame and shows no credibility at all!! I have followed the b-boy competions for the last 15 years worldwide and have never seen anything like this!!!
